We are super excited to announce our home grown athlete, Robyn has been selected to represent Australia at the Tokyo Summer Paralympics!
The discipline and consistent hard work Robyn has put into her training over the years has been inspirational with a tunnel vision to compete at the Paralympics.
Even with a shadow of uncertainty looming over Tokyo Paralympics going ahead, it didn't sway Robyn from keeping her focus & putting in the endless hours of training in preparation! (The hard work paid off big time!) She has now realised her dream of competing at the highest level in the Paralympics 🎉
It's also a particularly proud moment for Steve as his daughter achieves this this incredible milestone in her career:
We all want our children to be happy and achieve everything they aspire to do and I am blown away by what Robyn has achieved in her 24 years! It’s always up to you to create your life & build your dream and I know she will continue to keep growing and challenging herself over the next stage bringing her passion, hard work and creativity to everything she’s does. I can’t wait to watch her on the track in Tokyo taking on the best of the best from around the world and I know she will be more than ready and will always give her all. - Steve Walton

You may know her best as the girl behind the lens snapping away and collecting awesome shots & reels at the Den. Behind the scenes she is a passionate wheelchair athlete inspiring the next generation of young people with disabilities to pursue their passion. For Robyn, that is Para-athletics. Born in England and raised in WA, Robyn was not diagnosed with cerebral palsy until the age of nine. While she can walk for short stints – she had surgery to lengthen her hamstrings and achilles tendons - making her professional career in the chair. Her greatest successes began competing in Para-athletics in 2016, and quickly established herself as one of the world’s most exciting young prospects in the T34 classification. Her recent accomplishments include: 2018 World Para-athletics Grand Prix in Nottwil, Switzerland - Second in the women’s 100m T34 - Fourth in the women’s 200m T34 at the , Daniela Jutzeler Memorial in Arbon, Switzerland - Sixth in the women’s 100m T34 2019 Swiss National Championships in Arbon
- Sixth in the women’s 100m T34 - Sixth in the women’s 800m T34 As well as being an accomplished track star, Robyn also plays wheelchair rugby nationally, and was once a chance to be selected for the Australian women’s wheelchair basketball team, the Gliders.
Robyn always had her sights set on competing at the Paralympic Games, and last November she had the opportunity to prove to Australia why she deserves that chance. Holding her own racing alongside world class wheelchair athletes, she placed fifth in the women’s 100m T34. It was a strong performance which ultimately earned her a placement in the 2020 Australian Paralympic Team!
